Biofuel Challenges: Sustainability, Traceability & Compatibility - RSB + UNEP

On 19 May 2011, in Berlin.

Among the challenges faced by the biofuel industry, sustainability, traceability and vehicle compatibility are among the most important.

Join us on May 19 to learn about transparent and credible ways to address these issues.

Biofuels Sustainability & Traceability: In March 2011, the Roundtable on Sustainable Biofuels launched its global certification system for business. The RSB certification system provides the assurances you need to guarantee the sustainability and traceability of your feedstocks and fuels. The RSB can put you on a path towards compliance and certification for EU market access.

The RSB is a multi-stakeholder initiative hosted by the Energy Center of EPFL that has developed a global sustainability standard and certification system for biofuel production, based on years of consultation and consensus among hundreds of stakeholders worldwide, and broad support from industry, NGOs and civil society.

Biofuel Blends & Vehicles Compatibility: The UN Environment Programme invites you to discuss key challenges related to fuel/vehicle compatibility, and verify and complement the current desk research by taking on critical perspectives particularly from stakeholders including automotive, oil and biofuel industries. The aim is to deliver effective recommendations to decision-makers particularly in developing countries concerning the creation of sustainable biofuel mandates and blending targets. Guest speakers include the International Energy Agency, Boeing, the German NGO Forum and the Jatropha Alliance.
