The first meeting was dedicated to a progress report at Community level, thanks to the efforts of the European Commission, the implication of certain Member States and MEPs, and the opening of new fields of discussion by common entities, particularly the ENEF, ENSREG and WENRA. Perspectives for the future would be sketched (such as the drafting of a Directive on the management of radioactive wastes after the adoption of the one on safety).
